The purpose of this Blaine County crowdsource survey is to collect important information throughout the year about the approximate locations and number of wildlife as observed by residents in the Wood River Valley. This information helps in the understanding of where wildlife lives throughout the Valley and where and when people encounter them.
Observations should be done from a distance that does not disturb wildlife. This means that if an animal(s) begins to behave differently (i.e. moving away or towards you, vocalizing, or acting nervous) you are too close. Do not put yourself in an unsafe situation!
Understanding where human-wildlife encounters occur helps to inform management actions that keep residents and their pets safe and ensures wildlife remains healthy and wild.
